The creation of an agricultural project including a piggery, aiming to
- create an avenue for income generation at the centre and for the adjacent communities and to enhance the sustainability of the centre.
- raise awareness, train and educate the students and adjacent communities in agriculture and farming skills.
There is a farm located at the back of the LCDI centre in Masaka. We have one permanent Irish farmer along with Ugandan locals who tends to the farm, helping to keep a sustainable local community that is self dependant.
The farm now has an orchard, a pineapple field, a piggery and keeps bees all providing funding for the community and CEDF projects.
